Slept in a little this morning, starting at 1445UT; could have slept in a lot longer I think, at least as far as DXing goes. Very erratic signal fade ups (seeing mostly they were down), and a mild improvement in conditions as 1500UT approached, and shortly afterwards. Except for a weakish VoA - 1575, not much upper band activity at all.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): 639 CNR-1 //5030 at 1452UT; most consistent TP after this time 774 JOUB at 1455UT; often in the murk 828 JOBB at 1503; very messy on hour, mixing w/CC pips reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): 576 Mayak likely at 1456UT 594 JOAK 747 JOIB, not until 1505UT not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker 279 R. Rossii at 1501UT 567 JOIK //594 603 mx, possibly Korea? 648 some mx just before hour, faded by hour, VoR? 972 HLCA likely at 1501UT 1575 VoA, didn't check the other antenna for Farda Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) : 531 JOQG //594 at 1509 558 at 1510UT 783 at 1507 792 at 1507 945 likely //5030? 963 big carrier, bits of audio at 1512UT 1134 Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 666, 1098; 1566 didn't make the grade at all this morning. best wishes, Nick ***************************** Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC Canada _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
