They probably don't want someone to hear SS coming in from Mexico and think 1050 went back to Spanish again (which it was for many years before KTCT took over). As far as spending goes, remember that they spend boatloads of money for IBOC to increase the fidelity of talk stations. Nothing like hearing their hosts gas pains on the morning show. Yes...I'm cynical and sarcastic.
