Welll, this morning I was just about competitive with John (now that his receivers are packed away, hi). We'll miss those reports of what you can REALLY hear in this neck of the woods John. But I understand that TPs are still being heard in Oklahoma....on Ultralights. Maybe that's where the TPs have gone.
This morning's listening was from 1500 to 1525 with another brief listen at 1540UT. Signals were very erratic, and mostly poor to non existent, with the big guns occasionally stumbling into good readability. pretty darn good audio, at least briefly (all of it understandable by a native speaker) 594 JOAK, the most consistent today 747 JOIB at 1506, but usually in the murk, though less so than the other NHK2's 774 JOUB not until 1517; really underperforming 828 JOBB at 1503; trading places with someone else when at lower level than this 972 HLCA not until 1520 reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): ...only on the way to stronger signals, and then on the way back down not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker 567 JOIK //594 612 4QR at 1514UT 873 JOGB //774 1575 VoA, but not until later Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) : 279 R. Rossii 558 big carrier 603 (both 558 and 603 were very messy with at least two signals each; couldn't really winkle out the parallel) 639 CNR-1 //5030 666 JOBK //594 at 1525 675 738 1089 CC inflected talk at 1522, held up for about a minute, then disappeared 1134 seemed //972 so KBS 1422 mx at 1540UT, presumed JORF 1503 very messy w/SAH at 1540UT; didn't sound //594 (!) dunno? 1548 briefly at 1505UT; DF w/loop very ambiguous, assumed 4QD as north Flag didn't get much of it. 1566 finally a bit of CC sounding talk at 1540UT; presumably as local noise level drops below HLAZ' minimal sidebands Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 855 w/hum, 1098 Asia best wishes, Nick ***************************** Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC Canada _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
