Hello All, With the "powerhouse" TP's struggling to stay in audio this morning around sunrise, it became very obvious that yesterday's excellent Asian DX session was a strange quirk that isn't likely to be repeated anytime soon. This morning there was modest audio from 594-JOAK, 603-HLSA, 639-CNR1, 648-VOR, 738-BEL2 and 747-JOIB around 1500 UTC, but nothing like the unusually strong 639-CNR1 signal at the 1500 TOH yesterday. The high band was worse, with only 1566 and 1575 having even wispy audio. As is typical in December, there was no real sunrise enhancement at all, but only a gradual TP fadeout starting around 1525 here. Having experienced the great conditions yesterday, though, there is certainly motivation to continue checking the band for signs of another December miracle. There were many interesting signals from China yesterday, including this mix of 738-Taiwan Fisheries and an UnID Mainland Chinese station at 1509, with two Mandarin Chinese ladies on the frequency: _http://www.mediafire.com/?dzjqzxwzg13_ (http://www.mediafire.com/?dzjqzxwzg13) For those (like me) missing the strong TP signals of the peak October season, listening to the MP3's from yesterday does provide some temporary relief :-) 73, Gary DeBock Spotting receiver : Modified ICF-2010 (30" loopstick) Main receiver: Modified C.Crane SWP (7.5" Slider loopstick + CFJ455K5 IF filter) 9' and 7.5' (side) PVC tuned passive loops (in the cold back yard) _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca
