Hi; Over the weekend, I added two to the overall and ULR logbooks. Friday night at 1700 I finally got a "countable ID" from WPBS 1040 Conyers, GA. I have known since September that this is the station that I have been hearing before their s/off but just nothing concrete enough to mark it down. A few East Coast DX'ers mentioned hearing TOH LID in EE. I almost forgot at 5 PM EST and turned on the Grundig S-350 and adjusted the nearby Select-a-Tenna to further null WHO / amplify WPBS and heard a tone at 5:01 PM that said "You are listening to AM 1040, WPBS, Conyers / Atlanta, Georgia," before going back into KK programming. I was thinking that this station was VV until finding a website, buried way down in Google after searching for WPBS 1040 - www.atlantaradiokorea.com. They do not do an ID at s/off as I think that simulcast on two other stations and simply switch the 1040 rig off in mid sentence. SO, if you want an ID from WPBS (Rob and Saul) try at the TOH. Thanks for all of the help on this one.
I also logged the new X-Band CJEU 1670 from Quebec with kids Christmas music. Thanks to Barry and others on this one for the tip. 1040 WPBS GA Conyers 12-11 1701 EE ID @ TOH. Strong w/KK talk and classic EE pop. Been trying for a positive ID for months. DH-IN 1670 CJEU PQ Gatineau 12-12 0100 Kids Christmas music. F, mixing w/WI but easily nullable.
