Saul: It sure sounds like amateur radio to me. On one listen to each of the three clips, I pulled out the name Gary twice and the word classic and some business about a QSO. Maybe a powerful 160 meter operator getting enough signal into your front end to break through (some sort of product, maybe?) This might explain the high note of the code, too.
