Quite an improvement this morning, not only over yesterday, but over much of the last several weeks. Considering the mostly wimpy TA carriers last night, this came as a pleasant surprise. I was also just reading on the Topband list about a Taiwanese amateur making 160 meter contacts to the northeastern US, so the good conditions might have been fairly widespread.
Listened from 1400-1425, then another quick check back at 1530; signals were fairly consistent when strong, though still a lot of erratic fading on the weaker ones. pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): 567 JOIK (this was pretty consistent this morning, unlike its stablemate on 747) 774 JOUB 828 JOBB (with someone else underneath) 972 HLCA at 1421UT reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): 279 R.
