Still spotty conditions, but because I listened pretty continually from 1335UT to 1415UT (when things were noticeably fading), I actually heard quite a lot. A couple of DU appearances this morning, on 612 and 639, as well as the Marshalls carrier on 1098.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): 666 JOBK (!) at 1408UT, //594 and stronger 774 JOUB 828 JOBB 1566 HLAZ until 1345 pattern change; slightly weaker, but still pretty fair, afterwards reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): 567 JOIK, a late bloomer today, not at this strength until 1358UT 594 JOAK 747 JOIB 972 HLCA likely, at 1350UT 1287 likely JOHR at 1349. not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker 279 R. Rossii 603 later on, maybe HLSA, as had seemed //558 a little earlier when weaker 612 4QR per direction at 1356UT, but by 1406, JOLK was stronger //594, then by 1413, 4QR was dominant again, and at its strongest level, one up from this one. 873 JOGB //774 later on 1134 not //972 earlier, then it was // briefly at 1347UT: so, mix of JOQR and S. Korea 1242 likely JOLF, later on 1575 likely VoA Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) : 558 maybe //603, so HLQH? 639 choral singing in DU direction; Fiji? 675 might have been two stations at 1400UT, one of which sounded like NHK pips. 693 unusual visitor, JOAB //774 briefly in CBU splat 936 at 1351UT; Anhui? 963 good carrier, RR inflection to female talk; CRI? 1053 very good carrier, woman talking faintly earlier on, but mostly just carrier 1143 maybe CC talk by woman at 1412UT, Taiwan? 1269 maybe, just maybe //1287 w/male talk, but not sure; JOFM/JOSW if so Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 891, 1098 DU, 1251 best wishes, Nick ***************************** Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC Canada _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
