Hello All,

The Asian TP signals seemed fairly healthy this morning, at least in
relation to previous days. Most of the usual high-band Asians were vibrant, and

a few weak surprises showed up.

While DXing from 1330-1350 in a wet back yard, the 7.5' loop had strong
carriers on both 1475 and 1476 kHz around 1335, as mentioned by Nick
yesterday. The 1476 carrier was close to audio, but never could quite seal the
deal. The frequency is pretty noisy here, with the Korean-language local
1450-KSUH having the dubious distinction of having been disciplined by the FCC
for maintenance issues in the past.

1503-JOUK had strong audio at 1340, as Dennis reported. Checking 1575 kHz
for a sign of the presumed AFN signal, sure enough some dance music from the
station was pestering VOA-Thailand again at 1342, for the second day in a
row. Like Walt says, it's amazing how this low-powered network's signal
gets out, but I've yet to hear any programming except repeated pop music, with
a fadeout well before the 1400 TOH. This morning was typical,
unfortunately.

1494 kHz had a very weak signal in apparent Japanese here around 1350, but
nowhere near strong enough to check a parallel. Except for a healthy signal
from HLAZ-1566, that was pretty much the story for an above-average March
TP morning.
