Another DU morning here with mostly weak signals that benefited from a bit of amplification. However, 4QR-612 roared to a pretty reasonable peak at 1332UT, so there was a bit of a sunrise enhancement at least in the lower band. Earlier listening at 1300UT yielded weaker signals in general, fading in and out.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): none, though 612 came close. reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): 612 4QR peaking at 1332, actually better on the 1.3m square ALA100, as there's very little domestic QRM on the channel at sunrise not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker 702 2BL //612 at 1333UT Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) : 567, not //612, so not sure 576 unID mx 738 possibly Tahiti, as didn't seem //ABC frequencies 792 R. National, Australia? Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 774 mostly DU, though there was something else also best wishes, Nick ********** Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC Canada _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
