Listened this morning between 11:38 and about 14:30 and noted that things were
substantially better than yesterday.  Lot's of X-banders there in low audio,
and some of the Russian LW stations.  Last night, I did see the 1566 carrier at
almost audio level around and after 05:00.  Thanks to Nick Hall-Patch for
reminding us of grayline possibilities!  Using the QDFA aimed north worked fine
for 1566, while I was seeing a somewhat weaker signal from RFO Tahiti on 738
aiming the Wellbrook array to the S/SW.  As my Perseus was acting up (no, my
laptop), I mostly used the AOR 7030+ this morning, starting at the top of the
band and working down.......Walt

For this morning, here's a partial list with "6" unless noted otherwise:

1602:  6.5 level with oldies music
1566:  9 level HLAZ
1548:  ABC at 7 level
1539, 1512
1503:  7 level Japanese with cochannel music
1494:  7 level music at 12:19
1485:  JJ talk at 6.5 to 7
1476, 1475 both 6.5 to 7
1467:  6 to 7 level
1440:  JJ music at 8 level
1422:  9 level JORF Yokohama
1413:  JJ talk at 7 level
1386:  2 cochannels.  NHK2 and another slightly weaker, although the latter
dominated when switched over to the ALA antenna....Radio Tarana at 8 level).
1377:  NHK2 at 7.5 at 12:26 with EE lesson.
1368, 1359, 1323
1314:  7 level JOUF Osaka at 12:31

For some reason the band below was quite noisy this morning.  Also a comment on
last night:  Lot's of atmospheric noise!  Par for summer, I suppose (which has
arrived in Masset....temperatures in the upper 20s and a glorious sunset with
pink/red skies after 22:00 local).

That's it for now.  Just a few days left before heading back to Victoria, and
work........Walt in Masset.
