Derek and All, After having a chance to listen carefully to the 846 kHz ABC station MP3 recorded during the Lincoln City DXpedition, I noted that at 1:02 into the recording there is indeed an "RN" spoken after the ABC network ID, so this is apparently the 10 kw 2RN station in Canberra. This is yet another Aussie that never produced a trace for John B. or me, during 7 combined ULR DXpeditions to Grayland. 73, Gary In a message dated 8/27/2010 2:05:04 P.M. Hi Derek, The ABC 846 kHz station was only received on the exceptional morning of 8-20 in Lincoln City, and not at all on the other two days last week (8-21 and 8-22). During both recent Oregon trips I made a serious effort to check DU's on 909 kHz for your UnID country music, but there was always nasty domestic splatter from 910 kHz (presumably Vancouver, WA) along the NW Oregon coast. It was one of the noisiest split frequencies on the band, unfortunately. 73, Gary In a message dated 8/27/2010 11:40:35 A.M.
