What might have worked better is to remove the single
center conductor and replace it with a twisted pair of
#24 or so wires.
In this case you used two feedlines, one for each side
of the balanced output.
Ah. These days a pair of RG-6 cables would be about the same. Maybe
covering them with braid shield or even aluminum foil would be equivalent.
Even better than RG-6 is 75 ohm video cable. The center conductor for RG-6
is copper coated steel. Video cable is just copper. Less loss at MW
frequencies.
