Definitely a much better morning here, listening from 1250 to 1335UT, with the first really good strength signals from some of the regulars, plus quite a variety of second string stations. At one point, there were two Japanese on 864 for example, one //1287, umm those are 3 kw stations...
I also took the opportunity to run ye olde SDR in record mode at a couple of points, so there was some opportunity for DX later as well, allowing verification that 1143 really was in //738 at one point. pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): 774 JOUB 828 JOBB (with something underneath??) 1566 HLAZ (was still in at reduced strength after pattern change at 1345UT) reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): 594 JOAK very readable due to low splatter 747 JOIB 972 HLCA 1287 JOHR at 1309UT ... darn near perfect readability at times not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker 612 4QR at 1334, perhaps something else under 738 finally heard Taiwan here, maybe Gary wasn't DXing this morning and grabbing all the signal, hi? 864 briefly with two JJ talkers, one //1287 w/woman talking; 1305UT; unfortunately lost the recording with a PC crash at the end of the listening session. 873 JOGB //828 954 JOKR at 1324UT 1134 JOQR JJ talk, and mx at other times not //972 or 4460 1143 Taiwan //738 w/mx at 1322UT 1422 JJ sounding talk, so JORF Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) : 567 JOIK, not // with 594 until after pips at 1300UT 585 JOPG //594 at 1326UT 603 possibly HLSA, talk too weak to tell; 1325UT 756 not CNR1, possibly KBS? 837 JOQK //594 1327UT 846 sounded JJ at 1255, but don't think //594; PAL lists Regional News Weather Traffic Information at 1245UT, but doesn't say for how long; based on 567, maybe the full 15 minutes? 918 no idea 963 Russia? not strong enough to tell 1017 didn't seem //828, but no CRI // found either 1053 huge carrier, with the KK jammer hanging in there at last 1242 JJ inflection to talk; probably JOLF 1269 hoping for a //1287, but no luck 1278 no idea 1314 mx, possibly JOUF judging by all the other JJ 1332 JJ sounding talk JOSF? 1503 JOUK //594 at 1307UT, first time this season 1575 likely Thailand, big carrier Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 1044, 1098, 1251 best wishes, Nick ***************************** Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC Canada _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
