Hi Derek, Wow, some great TP recordings there! Want to trade your cliff-top location next to the beach for an Ultralight radio? :-) Your 531 kHz recording is definitely Japanese, presumably from the usual dominant station on the frequency-- JOQG in Morioka. (I lived in Japan for 2 years as a high school student, so can recognize the language.) The 648 CC is most likely the Voice of Russia, which has a Chinese program running from 1300-1400 currently. Great recording of 657-Pyongyang! The buzzing refers to this station's typical SSB carrier, which usually has rough edges on it. The 792 recording was tougher to decipher, but China and Thailand are the usual suspects here. 891 kHz is usually JOHK here in this DU-dead zone, but Thailand shows up on occasion. Closer to the beach, you probably have 5AN (and/or 4TAB) in the mix this time of year. Keep up the great work, Derek! 73, Gary _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca
