Murphy ruled this morning...had everything working, got up a few minutes early, and had time to spare, and by gosh, talk about extreme minimalist DXing. Actually, I did end up digging up some weak Aussies that haven't been heard for awhile, but it was hard work. And, even the big JJ guns were really lacking in pep, I guess hardly too surprising with K's of 4 and 5, and a big bulge in the solar wind density.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): nope reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): 747 JOIB 774 JOUB 828 JOBB (and none of them at this level for more than a short time) not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker 594 JOAK Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) : 567 JOIK //594 612 4QR after 1415UT 639 EE inflected talk at 1401UT, the first DU to show; //612 1425UT, so 4MS...or 5CK; either are good catches here, and surprising that it was the first to appear 702 2BL //612 747 4QS burbling away under JOIB //612, sounded like excited sports (horse racing?) commentary. 792 also EE inflected talk, but did not seem //846, so wondering whether 846 was 4CA...either would be good. 846 EE inflected talk, 2RN? 855 sports commentary //612 at 1418UT; 4QO/4QB 972 HLCA?? at 1420UT 1143 traces of talk by woman, no idea what language 1242 mx, but no idea; JOLF? 1287 JOHR likely; JJ inflected talk 1566 CC inflected talk at 1422 Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): a number of them, but not many that were consistent best wishes, Nick ***************************** Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC Canada _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
