Tuned in at 1445UT this morning to find a fairly lively band already, so was looking forward to a nice bit of further enhancement after 1500, but no, not really, just sort of gently started to fade away, with occasional temporary fades up to good strength. I also found that there were quite a number of good carriers with no real audio, perhaps there was more local noise than usual, but the splatter seemed lively also. Still, quite a lot of audio noted as well, considerably better than yesterday, so no complaints. And, JOUB might have been the strongest heard this season.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): 594 JOAK, but not always; some deep fades 774 JOUB really strong; beyond this category and nearly into the land of the semi-local...at least for a little while about 1450UT 828 JOBB at 1445, with something else underneath 972 HLCA becoming stronger past 1500UT 1566 HLAZ reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): 567 JOIK much better than //594 at 1448UT, something else underneath 702 NHK2 //774 at 1450UT 747 JOIB 837 JJ talk not //594, but from 1455 many NHK1 have local news and weather etc., so likely JOQK 873 JOGB //828, but trading places with singing from N. Korea //2850 945 CNR1 presumed w/CC talk at 1520UT not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker 603 big carrier w/mx //558 also at this strength; two stations on 603 639 CNR-1 //945 at 1452 657 N. Korea 936 CC talk at 1514; large carrier 954 JJ talk at 1455, so JOKR 981 CNR-1 //639 1134 KK talk, so HLKC likely Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) : 675 711 738, big carrier, mumbly talk 756 not //6030, so KBS?? 864 weak singing at 1458, gone by top of hour 882 sounded like two stations at 1501UT, too murky for any clues 918 mx, possibly CC talk at 1511 1269 big carrier, weak mx Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 1053, 1089, 1098 (Asian for a change), 1107, 1251, 1323 best wishes, Nick ***************************** Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC Canada _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
