I tried with my PL-606 & Select-A-Tenna to receive 1250-WYTH, but I never even
heard any hint of code or sweep tones, and gave up about 15 minutes into the
second test. (I had listened for the entire first test.) Other stations (at
least 3 that would have been individually identifiable) on 1250 were just too
much for 1kW from GA to punch through, and the splatter from 1240-KNSN 11.2mi W
of me didn't help, either.
Anyone know when the next DX test is, especially one west of the eastern NM,
CO, WY, MT borders? Some better frequencies for me would be 560, 580, 730
(E-NE), 820 (N), 900 (E), 1500 or 1570 as those usually only have very weak
signals. Strong locals that would make DXing on those frequencies difficult,
unless the target is 90° off, are 600 (W), 690 (SW), 760 (NW), 910 (N), 1130
(N), 1170 (N), 1360 (W), 1470 (SW). So, anyone know when would be the next
test that I would have a reasonable chance at logging?
