Yes, it has a spot for the loop. I have the frame, but never built the loop. I got the SPR4 from Dave Williams. He bought it new in about 1970 and used it for years. Then about 6 or 7 years ago, the audio went out and he was thinking about tossing it. He gave it to me and I got the audio fixed. Not a bad little radio. It makes a nice backup for the R8 that is on its' way back to Drake for repairs. I tried out my old Kenwood R1000 tonight too. I think the noise blanker in the R1000 works better against the electric fence over the SPR4. The R8's NB is the best overall though. KVGB has always been common here in the jumble. Even logged and QSL'd in AK in the 60s, but they were quite strong tonight. I was quite surprised to say the least!
