Thank goodness this is just a transmitter move and NOT the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the start of the subject, "CBR-1010 Calgary AB applied to CRTC to move..." which was, (in my mind) "... to FM"!
These guys are arguably the best bet for Alberta from the Midwestern and Eastern US, perhaps along with the 960 Calgary station (depending on local interference of course). Thank goodness they have the sense to keep their massive 50 kW heritage AM signal and not jump on the FM bandwagon like so many other formerly great Canadian AMers, large and small.
