I tried to tune into nearby KKOW-860 to get storm coverage (which they excel
at), but there was too much static on the band here.  Didn't dawn on me until
long afterwards to listen to their streaming audio.  The way the Weather
Channel
talked, this thing was a monster, like an F-4 or perhaps even an F-5.

Longtime NRC member John Tudenham and his wife Betty live in Joplin, and
escaped
unharmed, although they had several windows on their sun patio and their new
car
blown out.

Subject: [IRCA] MO tornadoes

I've seen some photos online of the aftermath of the bad tornado that struck
Joplin MO this evening. Many buildings were unfortunately directly hit.
Thoughts
and prayers to the people there. I haven't yet heard specifics of emergency
broadcasts but I'm sure they are happening.  ms
