And growing up where I did (just east of Council Bluffs, Iowa), I spent many a winter's morning during my childhood glued to KMA to see if my school's classes would be among those announced for cancellation due to snow. :)
Radio-locator.com shows their main nighttime lobe going north, with a smaller one to the south. Yet I do recall hearing them at night once in 1996-97 when I was living in Lafayette, Indiana.
