We recently drove to Coeur d'Alene for a few days. The following were of note:
1. 1700 The Russian language station is still here. Very usable signal noted
driving through Everett (I didn't get that far when I scouted the station a
while back).
2. 1610, a Part 15 station in Winthrop, WA. Sort-of-country music, then an ID
around 10am PDT on 8/7, "This is the KSAC LP Network" followed by IRN news. The
news went on for about ten seconds and then stopped mid-sentence, leaving an
OC. Not enchanted by this, I moved up to 1700 where I heard the exact same
sequence, news cut-off included. The latter was a much weaker signal (possibly
from Twisp, WA?) and we are talking about a delay of about 45 seconds. I
probably have some of the info wrong since I was driving at the time and had to
rely on my memory.
3. 1520 KKXA Snohomish is maintaining a Facebook blog which depicts their
progress putting the thing together, including when they blew a capacitor. Lots
of pictures. I haven't viewed it yet today so don't know if they are still
running 12kw ND. It carried reasonably well off of I-5 toward Winthrop on
Saturday. It is fairly decent in NE Tacoma but does not hold up too well on WA
509 as I drive 10 miles to downtown Tacoma. They are still playing a lot of the
"radio" songs but are now giving frequent IDs and are inviting listeners to set
their pushbuttons already even though they purportedly have not decided on a
format. I have not detected IBOC yet. In the blog, they haven't mentioned
anything about problems encountered co-siting with another 50kw station.
