Namely, these...

1) Telescopic whip won't stay up
2) 4.5 volt AC adaptor won't close
3) Green plastic housing for the headphone jack is broken
4) A short in the AM external antenna jack
5) The thingie that's supposed to help the 2 AA batteries that power the
computer won't make a connection

I contacted Universal Radio in Columbus, OH to see if they could help, and,
much to my shock, I got an E-mail this morning saying that they can not do
repairs right now because they have no technicians on staff!  So I got in touch
with "Kelly" at the Sony corporate office in Laredo and got absolutely
nowhere.  She said that she could not guarantee that they could fix it as they
do not carry its parts anymore, but she offered me a "brand new working radio
that is comparable".   So much for credible customer service.  I'm not
technically gifted, so I really don't feel like wanting to try to fix things
myself.  Any suggestions as to where I can go from here?
