Ultimately, I believe that Gene McKay realized that he was working to a very 
limited market. He first tried to market them to DX'ers, which due to the price 
and the quality audio features which didn't play well with that audience, he 
tried to expand his products for the commercial market. My recollection is that 
he wasn't as successful there either.

As Karl stated, it was quality equipment but more geared toward broadcast/audio 
qualtiy.
