But, do remember, that if you do not cook enough times or corewctly it can
be poison.
Growing up in Texas my dad did grow and we did eat it. I can't stand it, it
is close to rape.
FWIW- The vice-president under Polk, got the city of Dallas named for him.
Or so I was taught in Texas history.

I've never eaten true Poke Salad myself, but have heard that it's similar
in
taste to spinach salad, just a little more "tangy." I think most of the
festivals use just regular green salads, since pokeweed may not be the
