As far as I know, there are three Aussies on 1701. O nly one carries religious programs - the Vo ice of Ch arity, a Lebanese Ch ristian station in Sydney. They have a website www.voc.org.au/ A nice catch if that's what yu had. I was able to record a marginal ID of sorts at 1240 UTC on 7-21 from an apparent Christian station on 1701 kHz, although the signal level was pretty shaky. In the linked MP3, low-level preaching of some sort apparently continues (just above the noise level) until about 21 seconds into the recording, when a man suddenly pops out of the noise with an apparent ID sounding like "You're listening to J.R. (something mumbled), the Christian Way." Of course, my analysis is not guaranteed :-) http://www.mediafire.com/?el2l4z8pr2qdoo6 I have no idea whether this station is one of the two that you've been hearing in Victoria, and probably the only way to confirm the identity of this flea-powered 1701kHz Aussie is to track down a DXer in eastern Australia who is willing to listen on the frequency, and match voice identification with the IID on the recording. 73, Gary DeBock (in Puyallup, WA, USA) -----Original Message----- From: Nick Hall-Patch <[email protected]> To: Dennis Vroom <[email protected]>; Mailing list for the International Radio Club of America <[email protected]> Sent: Mon, Jul 23, 2012 11:37 pm Subject: Re: [IRCA] DU's for Monday July 23, 2012; Victoria loggings Yes, it was fairly good here too Dennis, but mostly above 1500 kHz, with rarely readable audio, though more audio than I've been used to, and peaking between 1220 and 1235UTC. 738 only audio heard here was very weak, FF inflected talk 1100 UT 1314 man talking 1229UT, but very weak 1503 mx, talk at various times, good carrier but nearly unreadable audio. 1575 hints of talk 1220-1225UT 1611 suddenly heard quite clearly (though weakly) man saying "you and I are able to see" at 1222UT; maybe preaching of some kind? but mostly unreadable 1629 man talking in some Latin language, maybe one of the Italians? Again mostly unreadable, though fairly consistent up and down through the 1220-1240UT period 1701 maybe two stations at 1226UT, mx and non-EE talk, but no idea what, because as always, quite weak. best wishes, Nick At 13:10 23-07-12, you wrote: >I overslept this morning, not getting up until 1225 utc.
