972 might be VOA Tajikstan!
2012 WRTH: Radio Aap Ki Dunyaa, Orzu, Tajikstan, "Between 1900-0100 a
trilingual service is carried, consisting of VOA news in English, Radio Aap
Ki Dunyaa in Urdu and VOA Deewa in Pasto." If the English you heard was
VOA, I bet this was it.
