Checking the bands this morning, things seemed to have been on the average side without anything new. HLCA 972 has to be the star performer this year with really big signals, even better here than the usual reliable Japanese powerhouse on 774. Last year's star performer, the CNR 1 outlet on 1593 has barely made any appearances this year. 891 was heard quite well today, but instead of Australia, I'm quite certain that it was from Asia, likely Korea. In fact nothing was noted from DU at all. Hawaii on 900 and 940 (with 900 Kahalui, Maui being the strongest) both were playing traditional Hawaiian music before 14:00 UTC at very good levels. Another observation has been the total lack of any dawn/post dawn enhancement compared to other years. The band just dies just before, or immediately after 14:00 here. No hint of anything from the sun, with SF 125, A4 and K0. Not a bad morning, just nothing very exciting either. 73, Walt Salmaniw, Victoria, BC _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca
