Like Walt said "MUCH improved conditions". Four unknown stations this morning 
1008, 1062, 1188 and 1215. HLCA signal improves daily being heard barefoot this 
morning on the eton e100. The unknown station on 1062 was heard for around 15 
minutes this morning. heard on NW & SW ewes. With KEX not using IBOC a weak 
signal was heard on 1188. 279 Radio Rossii signal has dropped here recently 
with 189 signal improving. Best signals on LW now are 153, 189 & 279 in order 
of signal strength. Should be some good reports this morning.


153   RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1206-1212 good signal with talk in Russian. ID's at 
1210-1211. Music at 1213. HPAW. 09/26/2012

180   RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1250 good signal with music on second scan of LW 
band. Nothing heard at 1213. HPAW. 09/26/2012

189   RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1215 good signal with music. HPAW. 09/26/2012

279   RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1216 very weak signal with man in Russian. Still 
very weak signal at 1255. HPAW. 09/26/2012

594   JAPAN, JOAK NHK1 1218 weak to fair signal with man in Japanese. Heavy 
splatter. NW ewe. 09/26/2012

567   JAPAN, JOIK NHK1 1310 steady weak signal with some domestic splatter. Man 
in Japanese with stronger signal than // Powerhouse JOAK 594 at this time. NW 
ewe. 09/26/2012

603   REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLSA 1333 very weak on super quite channel. Man in 
Korean. NW ewe. 09/26/2012

639   CHINA, CNR1 1314 weak signal with splatter from KFI. // 6030 with man in 
Chinese. NW ewe. 09/26/2012

657   DPR OF KOREA, 1236 weak signal with woman in Korean and // 3250. Fair 
signal at 1339 with man in Korean. NW ewe. 09/26/2012 

693   JAPAN, JOAB NHK2 1158 weak signal with American oldies song from the 
50's. NW ewe. 09/26/2012

774   JAPAN, JOUB NHK2 1223 fair signal with woman in Japanese. NW ewe.

819   Level 5 het 1341. Have noticed this carrier here this season. Never any 
audio and heavy Seattle splatter. NW ewe. 09/26/2012

828   JAPAN, JOBB NHK2 1302 weak signal with man in Japanese. NW ewe.

873   JAPAN, JOGB NHK2 1343 very weak with Japanese and moderate splatter. NW

972   REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLCA KBS 1225-1226 good signal with man/woman in 
Korean. Signal over rides KUFO splatter. Heard barefoot on the eton e100 with 
moderate KUFO splatter. NW ewe. 09/26/2012

1008  UNKNOWN, 1323-1324 very weak signal with woman in Asian language.  NW 
ewe. 09/26/2012

1044  CHINA, CRI 1345-1346 weak signal with man/woman in Japanese. Was a 
regular when l lived in Albany, CA back in the 70's when on 1040 kHz. NW ewe.

1053  REPUBLIC OF KOREA, 1306 jammer with fair signal. NW ewe. 09/26/2012

1062  UNKNOWN, 1349-1404  weak signal with man singing in ? language. Man/woman 
talking at 1353 with fair signal. Weak at 1259:45 with 15 seconds of silence 
then what seemed like 3 pips and tone at 1400. Man talking after pips. NW + SW 
ewes 09/26/2012.

1188  UNKNOWN, 1235-1236 weak signal with man in Asian language. Usually just a 
het here. Moderate KEX splatter, but no IBOC. China or HLKX FEBC? NW ewe.

1215  UNKNOWN, 1239-1240 woman in Chinese? Weak signal for about 1 minute, then 
signal faded out. NW ewe. 09/26/2012

1476  UNKNOWN, checked channel twice this morning with just a level 5 het. 
Spent a lot of time checking new unknown stations. 

1557  Level 5 het. 1228 heard Taiwan once on this channel in Salmon Creek. 25 
miles further North of KKOV signal. Walt noticed not hearing family radio from 
his location this season.  

1566  REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLAZ FEBC 1243 weak signal with woman in Japanese. 
Moderate splatter. NW ewe. 09/26/2012

1575  THAILAND, VOA 1245-1249 good signal with speech by President Obama. 
Man/woman in Lao. NW ewe. 09/26/2012
