Definitely the absorbent blanket that was suppressing the DX got lifted somewhat this morning. Listening before 1300UT yielded the big guns, though not particularly strong. My observation was that while the big guns were certainly audible later, they didn't benefit quite as much from the enhancement that took place around 1400UT. Local sunrise here saw some audio coming in still on channels such as 1287, but I had to go to work...
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): 774 JOUB man in CC 1358UT, and also similar strength at 1412UT but not CC lessons anymore. Maybe KK? 1566 HLAZ man in CC, 1359UT, talking over plucked string mx. reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): 747 JOIB briefly fair w/EE lessons by man and woman 1242UT not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker: 828 JOBB woman in JJ //774, 1405UT 891 man talking, not //594, at 1410UT; sounded KK?, so HLKB? 954 JOKR JJ talk by man at 1413UT 972 HLCA likely, man talking 1406UT 1287 JOHR JJ talk by man at 1415UT, pretty much local sunrise 1503 JOUK 1358UT, man talking, woman laughing //594 1557 presumed Family Radio, portentous orchestral mx, murky EE sounding talk by man 1402UT Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) : 567 JOIK woman talking //594 at 1358UT 594 JOAK first heard 1227UT, but never heard much better than this; //567 and 1503 at different times 612 4QR? man talking 1357UT, DU EE inflection 738 slow vocal mx at 1228UT, island flavor? 1242 slow singing by woman at 1409UT; JOLF? 1359 the big surprise this morning.
