Gary:

I won't say "Richard in Oklahoma" heard audio from 738-Tahiti. There was too
much slop from nearby 740-KRMG (25 kW), and probably KTRH, to know whether I
heard anything
other than a het on 738 kHz. Sadly KRMG goes to 50 kW at 1230 GMT thus
blocking further reception 738 here each morning.

Subject : RE: [IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight DU's for 10-9

Hello All,

The auroral conditions completely wiped out the Asiatic stations here this
morning, but it's obvious that there was highly unusual propagation from the
South Pacific.
Around 1345 several DU frequencies (forming an NZ pattern) managed moderately
strong carriers-- even in this DU-dead zone. These were 594 (weak), 603 (weak),
657
(moderate), 675 (moderate) and 765 (weak). Of course I knew very well who all
of these NZ carriers were-- which made it even more frustrating when this
mediocre location
didn't allow any of them to come up to audio. It must have been a fantastic day
at the coast... or even in Victoria!
738-Radio Polynesie in Tahiti was again the only South Pacific station to
manage fair audio here this morning (around 1403), repeating its performance
from yesterday.
Congratulations to Tim Tromp in Michigan for again receiving audio from
702-Sydney and 738-Tahiti, and to Richard in Oklahoma for his reception of
audio from 738-Tahiti on
his PL-310 Ultralight. After Nick's reception of audio from 603-Waatea and
765-Kahungunu yesterday, I imagine that he had quite a New Zealand bonanza this
morning.
