Hello All,
It was a pretty wild morning for TP-DXing, with exceptional Asiatic signals
continuing from 1315 until well past 1500. In a repeat of the excellent
conditions on Saturday morning, many second-tier Chinese stations rose up to be
heard-- but there was no way to track them all down during my limited DXing
session. 972-HLCA was back with a monster signal throughout most of the
session, and both 1566-HLAZ and 1575-VOA were unusually strong. Best audio of
the entire Fall season was heard from 558-HLQH, 1017-CNR8 (best audio ever),
1035-CNR1 and 1044-CRI, while the Japanese big guns seemed to stay at an
average level (without any unusual strength). Although the second-tier Chinese
stations were managing rare audio across the band it was necessary to take a
DXing break here from 1410-1435, during which I probably missed the peak
conditions. Congratulations again to Richard for receiving TP-DXing audio from
774-JOUB and 1566-HLAZ this morning on his Ultralight radios in Oklahoma-- wh!
ich is probably far more impressive than any accomplishment here this morning.
Hopefully the other west coast DXers had a chance to enjoy some of the
exceptional propagation today... and I'm glad (and kind of astonished) that the
PEI DXpedition group chose some of the best propagation dates of the entire
season for their ocean beach trip. Nick must be having a blast.
