Well, the technology involved is amazing. Sylvain logs China-1521 and posts the info on an Internet list. Nick reads Sylvain's post, checks his own Perseus capture for that date and time and - bingo! Nick logs an exotic station that he otherwise never would have realized he had received. Pretty incredible! With all of the problems facing MWDX including IBOC, 24/7 broadcasting, household electrical interference etc, the hobby continues to survive.
In the old days, Sylvain would have logged the station, mailed the info into DXM or DXN, and THREE WEEKS later the "tip" would appear in print. Meanwhile, DX conditions would probably have changed dramatically and other DXers would have little chance of hearing the station.
