Another "not really sunrise enhancement morning", though there was a slight boost around 1500UT relative to the poorer signal strengths just before the hour (more noticeable on the upper band, and mostly VoA-1575), but I guess beggars can't be choosers. Signal levels seemed better around 1400UT though.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): not today; 774 came close though reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): 774 JOUB woman in JJ 1401UT 1575 VoA woman in SE Asian language, then man at 1457UT, but echoey...some sort of propagation anomaly? "you're listening to the Voice of America" by man on the hour. not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker: 639 CNR1 man and woman in CC //6125 1407UT 747 JOIB woman in JJ //774 1406UT 828 JOBB woman in JJ //774 1402UT Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) : 963 CRI? sounded like the musical notes leading up to the chimes and fanfare on the hour crept through at 1359UT, but the audio faded out before the chimes. Haven't heard this for ages. 1557 man and woman talking then into choral mx at 1501UT. Taiwan? 1566 HLAZ likely; woman talking at 1402UT, also noted 1458UT Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 558 1017 1143 1287 1314 1359 1422 1503 best wishes, Nick **************** Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC, Canada _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
