Despite the reports from DXers in the south, my long weekend in Masset wasn't quite so dismal. I wouldn't say that I heard anything astonishing, but it did turn out to be a very solid Asian weekend. Not a hint of TA activity at all. TPs were solidly Asiatic, with the Koreans blasting in the strongest, followed by the Japanese, Chinese, and Russian MW (and LW) transmitters. Not a hint of India, nor Bangladesh. Vietnam was well heard on 675 on one day at least. 1575, as others reported was booming in most of the time. Nothing heard cochannel here, though, so I wonder whether the AFN Japanese are still there or not. Also, nothing from Radio Farda either. As always, I have a good selection of Perseus wav files. Sunday morning was the best, in my view. Saturday the weakest, and the other days in-between. I used only a single NW BOG of about 700', and 2 ALA-100 close to right angles to each other. 73 to all, Walt Salmaniw, Victoria, BC _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca
