This morning was pretty darn interesting for the time of year, and I slept through it (peak was between 1255 and 1310UT), but through the magic of SDR recordings there is something to report. One peculiarity was the large number of good carriers with no or near-imaginary traces of audio, given that the real audio was never tremendously strong. For example, no longwave this morning, but good carriers. It was almost like (oh no), I've had a subtle increase in the local noise level.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

none

reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

594 JOAK man in JJ 1249UT
774 JOUB man in JJ 1246-1250UT
828 JOBB man in JJ //774 1248UT
1053 KK jammer 1301 and 1311 UT
1566 HLAZ again, the most consistent, and longest lived of the audios. Noted at 1301UT with "kochira wa ... FEBC desu" by woman, but kept coming back to this strength as late as 1336UT, with traces up to 1345UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be
understood by a native speaker:

747 JOIB man in JJ 1257UT //774
972 HLCA woman in KK 1301UT
1503 JOUK man talking //594 1311UT
1557 Taiwan? instrumental mx fading up briefly, then woman singing 1303UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

567 JOIK pips at 1300UT, then man in JJ //594
837 unID man talking 1256UT, no parallel though 594 faded up w/similar sounding man a moment after this faded
891 JOHK woman talking //594 1250UT
1287 JOHR? man talking 1315UT, JJ inflection? hard to tell
1494 unID woman talking 1305UT, possibly JJ inflection
1593 unID man talking 1309UT, not // with the remnants of low band NHK2, and sounded rather more Tagalog than Chinese?

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

153 234 279 531 558 603 702 (rough carrier; N. Korea?) 756 1098 1179 1188 1242 1314 1323 1359 (rough carrier ) 1422 1476 1575

best wishes,

Nick
