Hello All,

As Dennis has already reported, it was one of the worst clunker sessions of the
entire season (and the term "mid-October anomaly" comes to mind). The Asians
were comatose right up until around 1345, when a few carriers from the big guns
on 594, 693, 774 and 972 started to flirt with audio. By 1400 the three NHK
die-hards (594-JOAK, 693-JOAB and 774-JOUB) managed a few seconds of poor audio
in and out, followed by 1503-JOUK at 1405 and 1575-VOA at 1407 (both of them at
threshold levels). Finally at 1410 the Korean big gun 972-HLCA became the star
of the morning by rising up out of the dead for a minute and managing a fair
peak with Korean speech-- only to crash back down into the noise a few seconds
later. It was a thoroughly mediocre session overall, with all the second-tier
Asians missing in action, and even the 1053-Jammer jammed up. At least the
conditions can only get better tomorrow.
