Richard, if you have received 279-Rossii on your 7.5" Longwave loopstick
PL-360, then you are the only DXer I know of that has successfully received
both Longwave TA's and TP's on an antenna as small as a 7.5" loopstick (on any
radio, let alone an Ultralight). Living in the center of the country must help,
in such a huge challenge. 279-Rossii is by far the strongest of the Longwave
TP's, as you probably know. Its signal is so strong that I even managed to
receive it once on a barefoot PL-310, using the stock midget loopstick
(notoriously deaf on Longwave).

<<< This morning was nowhere as good as yesterday. Only JOIB, JOUB and 1053
jamming
station were audible. JOUB was first heard on a barefoot PL-310 at 0857 and
didn't fade out until 1253 (LSR at 1248). There was a strong het, but no
audio,
on 972 kHz. Also traces of signals at times on 1134 and 1287. >>>

Well, here near the coast the Asian signals were slightly off compared to
yesterday, but there were still plenty enough second-tier TP's to keep it
interesting. As usual the Chinese were the star performers here, with 603, 639,
1017 and 1323 pretty vibrant at times. Like your DXing spot, this location is
on some very rich valley soil, which seems to twist propagation in strange ways
compared to other west coast locations.

Good DX.
