Hello All,

What seemed like a pretty mediocre session for Asians this morning improved
somewhat with a late rally by several low-band Korean and Chinese stations,
finally bringing the overall results up to something like low average. The band
started out around 1300 with only halfhearted audio from several big guns (828,
972, 1566 and 1575), while all the second-tier TP's stayed well down in the
noise. Sunrise enhancement seemed like a fizzler around 1400, with decent audio
still limited to only a few big gun TP's (594, 747 and 828), and even several
of those were missing in action.

Around 1415 an interesting signal came up on 1053, which again wasn't the
Jammer, but another TP playing some kind of music. The Jammer was fairly weak
under the music, but unfortunately both of them were long gone after about a
minute. Several Chinese stations on 603, 639, 936, 1017 and 1044 started
flirting with audio around 1430, and finally 603-China faded in with some
energy at 1433, in a fair-to-good mix with 603-HLSA (both of which had been
comatose throughout most of the session). 657-Pyongyang faded in at a fair
level with its orchestral music at 1440, and 936-Anhui (presumed) also managed
to get in a fair signal with male-female Chinese conversation around 1445. The
Northeast Asian TP's all started to bail around 1450 in the mediocre
conditions, although 1575-VOA in Thailand again managed a fairly potent late
rally, hitting good peaks of audio for a few seconds at a time right up until
1500 with female-male Asiatic language conversation. Overall the session was
not!
hing special, but the late rally did save it from being a real clunker.
