I'm returning to medium wave, broadcast band DXing after being out of the game for an extended time. Though I've owned the SDR-IQ for many years, I've never seriously used it for DXing the AM band.
I'd like to record Top of the Hour (TOH) periods when stations are required to identify for each hour of the day, starting at just before local sunset, and continuing all night. Then review these recordings the next day. I'd like to limit the amount of time recorded to approximately 3 minutes per hour, using the full bandwidth of the receiver. That would give me 19 "channels" of information to review each hour. That's still a lot of audio to wade through, but I think it's manageable.
I can't be the only guy doing this, so I wonder if someone could recommend the best software for this application? I'd love to do everything in one piece of software, but can run multiple pieces of software if needed.
I hope other DX'ers will take the time to share their recommendations. Also interested in hearing how other SDR users handle the logistics of managing the data, and making time to review it.
Thanks in advance! -- -- 73, Les Rayburn, N1LF 121 Mayfair Park Maylene, AL 35114 EM63nf 6M VUCC #1712 AMSAT #38965 Grid Bandits #222 Southeastern VHF Society Central States VHF Society Life Member Six Club #2484 Active on 6 Meters thru 1296, 10GHz & Light _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
