I hear them at my QTH about 45 miles north of NYC. Some QSB as they flutter in and out of the other melee on this frequency. This sounds like the same station I heard on the night of December 1. Sounds very much like a stereotypical pirate - young male ranting, bad rock and roll, lots of nudge nudge. I'm using a Sony ICF-SW7600GR bare back, so they must be getting out pretty well.
Thanks for the tip, Tim! Poor to fair over/under Radio Celestial, best in upper sideband to avoid the 1700 splatter. Music and banter between two announcers, reading reception reports sent in from various DXers, seems to be the same holiday program that's been widely reported on 1720 and various shortwave frequencies during the Christmas holiday. 73, Tim Tromp West Michigan _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected] _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
