Hello All,

Some energetic Asian signals presented themselves around 1400 UTC this morning
(while the coast was still in total darkness), but unfortunately the sunrise
enhancement period didn't really enhance much except for 1575-VOA.

828-JOBB and 972-HLCA were both at very good strength around 1350, and some
second-tier Asians like 558-HLQH, its // 603-HLSA and 738-BEL2 were also
managing fair audio at times. Shortly after 1400 other Japanese big guns like
693-JOAB and 747-JOIB were in and out with good signals, along with 648-VOR and
657-Pyongyang. The band stayed in this promising state until around 1430, when
most of the second-tier Asians started to slide into the noise. By 1500 things
had calmed down considerably, although 1575-VOA went against the trend by
rising up to a decent level. Sunrise enhancement was pretty much of a fizzler,
with only 1575-VOA (good), 1503-JOUK (fair) and a couple of weak Chinese
stations (1377 and 1593) managing to survive until 1530. At least the band was
showing some signs of life after yesterday's mediocre performance.
