It was a rather mediocre morning here in Seattle. The only audio below
1500 kHz was a very marginal set of NHK time pips on 747. Otherwise, the
only signals were a few of the very high end regulars. There was a
mild high-end enhancement at sunrise, but VOA-1575 actually had a better
signal a couple of hours earlier.
There were a couple of intriguing carriers. 756 was almost good enough
to produce audio at 1400. There were also interesting carriers on 1539
and 1548, plus one from presumed Taiwan on 1557. All three had
reasonably good strength, but there was too much domestic splatter to
reveal any audio.
Good
1566 HLAZ, 1529 choir singing, then various announcements in Chinese
Fair
1575 VOA, talk in Asian language 1304-22, poor nil after that until
it made a minor resurgence 1523-29
Poor
747 JOIB, faint pips 1400
1593 CNR1, 1531-33 occasional Chinese talk poking above the KLFE-1590
splatter. Carrier was stronger than HLAZ-1566, but local QRM was too
much to overcome.
