Back after being out of town for a couple of days, and conditions, although a bit livelier than most days this month, certainly didn't compare to out west. Listened between 1430 and 1510 today, and at 1430 I certainly had a lot of carriers, some on rather unusual frequencies, but at that time only Japan on 828 had any audio. Oddly, it was quite good then, but nothing else was even close. Many of the more interesting carriers faded as sunrise approached, but the Japanese big guns on 594 and 747 reached audio (though oddly 774 did not). The high band hung in better, with traces of audio noted from unIDs on 1314 and 1332. Also traces from Japan on 1602 and China on 1593. Korea on 1566 was pretty good, but 1575 VOA had only marginal audio. The one commonality I did note from Nick's report was Taiwan on 1557, which was doing real well just before 1500, its best performance of the season actually, and matching 1566 for top signal of the day.
