As others have observed, the low end of the band did better than
has been the case. Here in Alberta, noted audio from Japan on
594,693,747, and 774. Think that's the first time in 2014 I've had
audio from 4 of them down there. Also noted some faint traces of audio
on 639, but too weak to ID. Up at the top end, VOA was the sole audio
today. Tawain on 1557, yesterday's winner, was only a mediocre carrier,
and there was no evidence today of the mysterious second carrier on
1566. Overall, the reception peak seemed quite pronounced, around 1445,
15 minutes before sunrise, and only lasting 5 minutes or so, before
signals quickly dropped off.
