With the k-index at 5, I listened on 702 kHz (250°) at sunrise (1158 UTC) this morning, hearing a weak carrier at 1155, strongest by 1202, fading away at 1208. No audio was detected, but most it was certainly from 2BL. Only slight QRM from XEGD 700 kHz.
It's still a bit too early in the season to hear any signal from Japanese this far inland. The earliest I've heard a signal from Asia was on 9/8/13. Receiver: Tecsun PL-380 with an eight-inch FSL antenna. Looking forward to a good season of TP DX.
