Well, I guess that makes us even, Nigel-- I had only a feeble carrier on
1575-VOA at 1230 ;-)
In any case, like Nick and Chuck, I have always been amazed at your DU-DXing
prowess in such a distant location as Alberta. Quite a few times on the Oregon
cliffs I would make what I thought was a pretty good DU-DX reception (like
585-2WEB or 639-2CK), only to find out that you had heard it in Alberta long
ago.

A rather odd morning. It was poor across the band, with one
exception. VOA Thailand appeared out of nowhere at 1230 with their best
signal in months. On the other hand Gary's superstar of the day on 972
was at best a feeble carrier here.
774 JOUB, Japan Only traces of talk at 1223, but 99% sure it was // to
828.
828 JOBB, Japan Weak, but definitely the language lesson from Japan
today, at 1221.
1575 VOA Thailand Carrier came out of nowhere at 1230 (s/on or pattern
change?), then a few seconds later man IDed as "From Washington, this is
VOA News", after which it was into a SE Asian language. By far the best
TP signal today, and by far the best this one's been heard this season.
