--- Begin Message ---Hello All, It was a pretty wild morning for the low band Asians, sounding very much like peak conditions in the middle of October. Some of the highlights were 603-China and HLSA fighting it out in an S7-S9 mix around 1307, 594-JOAK pegging the PL-380 S/N with a Chinese co-channel underneath, 657-Pyongyang with a weak Chinese co-channel, and 738-BEL2 with its best signal of the new season. The session started off with a bang at 1240 with 594-JOAK already at S9+ (where it stayed for most of the next hour), along with very potent signals from the other NHK big guns on 693, 747, 774 and 828. The 10 kW NHK1 station 531-JOQG was also managing fair signals at the time, and both of the KBS2 parallels 558-HLQH and 603-HLSA already had good signals in this predawn darkness. Around 1255 the relatively obscure 603-China began to pester HLSA, and was fighting it out with the Korean station for most of the next hour. Around 1304 these two stations reached an S9 mix briefly, and with the increasing daylight 603-China seemed to get the edge (for the first time this season). 594-JOAK was at a monster level throughout the session, but that didn't stop a 594-Chinese co-channel from showing up at a decent level underneath it around 1307. 657-Pyongyang was also unusually vibrant with its ancient music, but had multipath flutter due to some weak Chinese competition on the frequency. 693-JOAB had its best signal ever observed here with NHK2 English lessons around 1314, and Chinese lessons later in the session around 1345-- completely free of the Vancouver splatter. To add to the Chinese trend 639-CNR1 broke free from the KFI splatter around 1340, managing fair signals for the first time this season. Finally 738-BEL2 was strong enough at the 1300 TOH to break into the clear away from KCBS splatter, with the usual Chinese female announcer giving the news round 1303. It was an altogether wild session, with weak Chinese stations coming out of the woodwork all across the low band. Best signal of the morning was from 594-JOAK, pegging the PL-380 S/N around 1307 (which 693-JOAB and 747-JOIB also managed to do this morning). 594 JOAK Tokyo, Japan Huge signal (with Chinese co-channel) at 1304; extremely strong all session long http://www.mediafire.com/listen/6uvxy9f2o06fn82/594-JOAK-China-mix-1304z092314PL380.MP3 603 China (Hulun Buir?) + HLSA Namyang, S.
