Hello All,

Asian propagation took another slight step backwards this morning as vibrant
audio was limited to the Japanese and Korean big guns on the low and middle
band-- and there weren't very many of them. The NHK stations were not as strong
as in previous days, and the high band continued its one week skid.

At my 1240 start time only the 1053-Jammer was sounding energetic, with all the
other TP's struggling to get out of the noise. 738-BEL2 managed weak audio
around 1255 in this predawn darkness, but its signal never amounted to much
during the rest of the session. At the first break of daylight around 1310
both 594-JOAK and 747-JOIB rose up to a fair level, and 657-Pyongyang managed
to get through the domestic splatter with a moderately energetic tirade around
1312. 603-HLSA also came out of the noise with a very weak Chinese co-channel
around 1320, but the KBS2 network's deep-voiced male sounded pretty anemic, and
his voice tone blended in with the noise very well. Finally toward the end of
sunrise enhancement around 1345 both 594-JOAK and 972-HLCA rose up in strength
suddenly, with JOAK hitting a fair to good level and HLCA briefly pegging the
PL-380 S/N with a huge signal during Korean pop music at 1348. This was by far
the best signal in a fairly lackluster morning as the Asians continued to slide
backwards from their stellar performance on September 23.
